Delivered the awards and distinctions of the XXX bullfighting fair of Calasparra rice (27/10/2019)

More than two hundred fans attended the awards ceremony for the 2019 season in Calasparra on Saturday, October 26, at a gala organized by the Calasparra Bullfighting Club and presented by Verónica Rodríguez, which took place at the Sanctuary Restaurant Virgin of Hope.

Bullfighting clubs and associations of the town and the Region of Murcia were represented at the event.

Together with the mayor of Calasparra D. José Vélez and the president of the Bullfighting Club D. Francisco García, the gala was chaired by Doña Esperanza Moreno Reventós, Minister of Education and Culture.

Present were the General Director of Educational Evaluation and Professional Training, Mr. Sergio López Barrancos, and the Director General of Local Administration, Mr. Francisco Abril, among other regional and local authorities.

Mr. Óscar Fernández, on behalf of the company Chipé Producciones, delivered the collection of the Espiga de Plata Festival to the collective "Calasparra moves", for his contribution to cancer research and support to people and family affected by this disease.

The Bullfighting Club of Calasparra also delivered a check to the group.

The Gala began with the awards ceremony of the 5th International Bullfighting Photography Contest, awarded to Diego Aznar Galipienso and Leticia Rico.

Next, Doña Dolores Salinas Gómez was named Honor Partner.

Then the Distinctions of the Bullfighting Club of Calasparra were delivered, which this year fell to the Diputación de Badajoz, collected by Mr. Ramón Ropero, his vice president, for his contribution to bullfighting through his exemplary Bullfighting School;

the City Council of Moratalla, collected by its Mayor, Mr. Jesús Amo, for his historical contribution to bullfighting through popular festivities;

Mr. Ginés Hernández López, for his contribution to the appearance of young figures with the Espiga de Plata Trophy;

Mr. Julián Alcaraz, for being deserving of the exemplary amateur title.

The special distinction XXX anniversary fell to Juan Bautista, to appear in the bullfighting history of Calasparra for the pardon of "Bullicioso", first in this town and first of Fuente Ymbro and the Winners Detail "Golden Spike" of the Bullfighting Rice Fair It was for Sergio Serrano (2004 winner) for his emotional performance in the "Cattle Challenge" on September 22, 2019 at the Las Ventas Bullring before a Saltillo bull.

The awards ceremony ended with those corresponding to the XXX Bullfighting Rice Fair: Best bullfight: Livestock of José Escolar.

Best steer: Carburito, from the Livestock of Valdellán.

Prize awarded by the Official College of Veterinarians of the Region of Murcia.

Best punch: José Mª Tafalla.

Best pair of flags: Rafael González.

Remove the danger: José Luis López, "Triviño".

Best thrust: The Rafi.

All of them thanked the prize received while highlighting the prestige of the Bullfighting Fair of Calasparra.

Mr. Francisco García Sánchez, president of the Bullfighting Club of Calasparra, began his speech thanking the presence of authorities and fans and recalling the impulse of the people who thirty years ago "dreamed" the Bullfighting Rice Fair.

After congratulating the award-winning and distinguished people, he commented on the current situation regarding the continuity of the company Chipé Producciones and thanked the Mayor of Calasparra for his commitment to bulls.

He highlighted the bet of the Club in the defense of the bulls and the Calasparra Fair, encouraging the fans throughout the year.

He took advantage of the presence of the authorities to demand more public support for the defense and promotion of bullfighting culture.

The Minister of Education and Culture, Mrs. Esperanza Moreno Reventós, after congratulating the winners, began by thanking the opportunity to participate in this bullfighting awards ceremony and congratulating the winners, while thanking the work done by the Bullfighting Club of Calasparra in the organization of activities and highlighted the historical character of our party and its cultural dimension.

The mayor of Calasparra, Mr. José Vélez Fernández, congratulated the award-winning and distinguished people, reviewing the local bullfighting season and thanking those who have made possible the thirty editions of the Rice Bullfighting Fair.

He took the opportunity to remember the difficult moments that our Fair has been overcoming and recognizing the need for the involvement of the entire town in its continuity and improvement.

On the current situation around the organization of the local bullfighting season for 2020 reaffirmed the City Council's commitment to the continuity of the company Chipé Producciones.

He finished his speech announcing the creation of the "First Victor Barrio Memorial" Recognition that the City Council of Calasparra will perform annually to people who support and promote bullfighting.

On this first occasion, Mr. Francisco García Sánchez, president of the Bullfighting Club of Calasparra and the Federation of Bullfighting Associations of the Region of Murcia, has been handed over.

The prize presented is a wonderful collection of lithographs, finished by hand, by the plastic artist Nicolás de Maya, with bullfighting details from Calasparra.
