The Civil Guard dismantles a marijuana greenhouse in a country house (20/04/2018)

One person has been detained and another has been investigated as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of cultivation and manufacture of drugs, illegal possession of weapons and defrauding of electrical fluid

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in the framework of the operation 'LUZ VIVA', has dismantled a clandestine greenhouse located inside a rural house in the municipality of Calasparra, where 120 plants of cannabis sativa, a revolver, have been seized , a gun, 69 cartridges of 9 mm., a vehicle and the necessary tools for its interior culture.

The investigation has culminated with the arrest of one person and with the investigation of proceedings as investigated by a second, both as alleged authors of the crimes of cultivation and manufacture of drugs, illegal possession of weapons and defraudation of electricity.

The investigation began last month, when the Benemérita established a research operation aimed at locating possible marijuana greenhouses in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Calasparra.

The numerous vigilances established in the area made it possible to detect a house from which a strong smell of marijuana emanated and which, moreover, had an irregular electricity supply to the public network, so that its surveillance was arranged in order to locate to the people who came to the property with a certain frequency.

The house, located in a mountain area of ​​the municipality, had been rented by a young man, a resident of Ceuta, who, as it turned out, only spent the night in the building, while a second person frequently went, supposedly, to carry out tasks of maintenance of the plantation, while the property presented constant closed windows and numerous air conditioners in operation.

Collaboration with the Local Police of Calasparra

Once obtained the necessary indications, the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Local Police of Calasparra, ordered the inspection of the building when the person who performed the night watch duties left the place.

In its interior were found numerous plants of sativa cannabis that were distributed in the different rooms of the building where they had installed spotlights, reactors, extractors, fans, air extraction tubes and air conditioners, which allowed a high capacity of production.

The result of the search resulted in the seizure of 120 marijuana plants in an advanced state of growth: a revolver, a pistol, 69 9-mm cartridges, a vehicle and the necessary tools for indoor cultivation.

The seized weapons whose serial number had been erased were munitioned and ready to fire.

In that act, the resident of the Spanish dwelling, aged 27 and resident of Ceutí, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of cultivation and drug manufacture, illegal possession of weapons and electric power fraud.

Shortly after a second person was found related to the maintenance of the greenhouse, which has been instructed diligences as alleged author of the crimes investigated.

According to the investigation, the detainee, the tenant of the property, spent the night in the house to avoid possible robberies or detect the police presence in the area, while the second was moving regularly to perform maintenance tasks of the plantation.

The Spanish arrested, aged 27 and 33 and neighbors of Ceuta and Blanca, the seized drugs, the seized weapons, the seized effects and the instructed diligences have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Caravaca de la Cruz, which has decreed the entry in provisional prison of one of those arrested.
