The Government of Spain invests EUR 1,385,000 in the Promotion Plan of the Tourism Product Almadenes Gorge
The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, has participated this morning along with the mayors of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro Jimenez, and Cieza, Antonio González Tamayo, among other authorities, in setting the foundation stone for construction Reception Centre de la Cueva del Puerto in Calasparra.
The construction of the new Welcome Center involve an investment of EUR 621,793.67, consisting of the construction of a building to welcome visitors to the cave of the Port that will be equipped auditorium, cafeteria, shop, Room for Interpretation , Warehouse and Offices.
The new work is part of the proceedings of the Revitalization Plan's Tourism Product Almadenes Gorge, involving equally the Government of Spain, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Tourist Consortium "Almadenes Gorge, with Calasparra and Cieza councils and the Regional Federation of Employers of Hospitality (Hostemur).
The Government delegate pointed out that the agreement that prompted this Revitalization Plan was signed in May 2007 and in it, the State Administration, the Regional Government and Tourism Partnership agreed to finance various activities in the area to increase quality of tourism services with a value of 4,155,000 euros in three annual installments.
Of this amount, the Government of Spain invests EUR 1,385,000.
Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the Revitalization Plan are in various stages of intervention and that in addition to the works, which are now in the Cave of the port also includes a draft Interpretation Centre in Cieza, various performances at the Shrine of Our Lady of Hope, the creation of a river beach in Calasparra, a zip line and a circular route through the Canyon of Almadenes, among others.
1.5 million euros in total investment to condition the zone of Puerto la Cueva
The proposed action of the Reception Centre of Puerto de la Cueva also includes improved access for all types of vehicles, including buses, and parking area.
In the currently existing building, will be conditioned to the use of the cave spelunking in the sport.
The works performed on the same plan to run in a period of 8 months.
Works will soon be complemented with the implementation of the Rush Power, Water Rush, New Access Tunnel entrance to the Cave Tourism, Extended Tour in about 300 meters, which added to the existing permit a visit tourist cave more than 700 meters.
All these activities involve an investment of € 880,000 other than with the Welcome Center building with a total of 1,500,000 €.
