The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, and the mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, today laid the foundation stone for the construction works of a promotion of 16 new housing and public space in the locality.

The new houses, located near the Church of San Pedro and the Museum of the Commandery boost urban development in the neighborhood of San Pedro, thanks to the investment that the Ministry, through the Housing and Land Institute (IVS), performs for a total of 1,517,000 euros.

The promotion, part of the second phase of an urban renewal project, consists of 16 homes will have garage and storage room, located on a parcel of 1,357 square meters Cantarería Street in the historic old town, " boosting the supply of public housing in the city promoting and improving urban areas by restoring architectural heritage of the neighborhood of San Pedro in Calasparra, "said José Ballesta said.

The project also opened a new road to create a shaft that connects the Church of San Pedro with the Municipal Auditorium, currently under construction.
