The mayor of Environment, Ricardo García, visited on Monday the Urban Gardens and the Land Bank, through which, the City of Calasparra has made available to citizens more than 2 hectares of land that seek to promote the self-employment, the revitalization of social, ecological and business initiatives related to agricultural activity, as well as encouraging the rental of plots that are without activity.
The rental prices start at 32 euros per year, depending on the area.
16 residents of Calasparra are already benefiting from the initiative.
Rafael Ruiz is one of them.
His hectare of land has been used to plant organic broccoli, "I have not used any type of sulphate.
Nature is wise and I have been able to bring forward a harvest that I am very proud of. "
