There was much anticipation generated among the northwest public by this opera and zarzuela recital organized within the activities of the cultural program of the City of Calasparra last Saturday 9 February at the Municipal Auditorium, with a full capacity.
From the artistic point of view it was a performance of great height in which the assistants could enjoy a varied and select repertoire with works of Donizetti, Rossini, Mozart, Verdi and Obradors in the first part and a second dedicated to the composers Manuel de Falla, Penella, Gerónimo Giménez, José Serrano and Moreno Torroba.
All this with the music of the magnificent pianist Antonio López Serrano, who combined the interpretation of the melodies with the voice of the powerful baritone Luis Santana and the soprano Montserrat Martí Caballé who, with his good work and delicate voice, dazzled on the tables of the Calasparreño auditorium before an audience totally overturned with thirst for music, coming from the different points of the neighboring districts.
Waste of talent and endless applause in a night for the memory of lovers of the lyric in the rice village.
