This Friday, May 17, the temporary exhibition "The horror photographer" is inaugurated in the Exhibition Hall Calle Mayor 40 (In the old town of Calasparra) on Francisco Boix's story and the photos stolen from the SS of Mauthausen, the historian Benito Bermejo
>> Francisco Boix Campo (Barcelona 1920-Paris 1951) is known to have been a witness in the Nuermberg Process in 1946, where he was interrogated in relation to his experience in the Nazi camp in Mauthausen and for having contributed graphic documents made by his own SS and that showed some aspects of the reality of that field.
Boix had worked for years in the Mauthausen photo lab and with the help of other prisoners managed to preserve a significant number of images from destruction.
In this exhibition, he goes through photographs of his career from the Barcelona of the 30s to his death at the age of 30 in Paris.
