Councilman Carlos Alajarín denounces an "aggression against public health" for the sewage discharges suffered by this neighborhood for several months after the breakage of a pipe
The Councilor for Citizens in Calasparra Carlos Alajarín has denounced today “inaction and laziness†by the socialist mayor José Vélez, who “does not take action against the unpleasant situation that the Calasparreño neighborhood of Esparragal has suffered for months, where there was the breakage of a sewage pipe that has been pouring into the public thoroughfare all this time without anyone from the Consistory doing anything â€.
"From Ciudadanos we understand that the Government of Vélez is allowing an unattainable aggression against public health, and delving into the sense of abandonment of the neighborhood and its neighbors," said Alajarín, who says "feel shame about the lack of interest in managing a problem that neighbors pay, who are the ones who day after day see how spills occur on Esparragal Street without their town hall offering an effective solution. â€
The Orange Councilor recalled that the Esparragal neighborhood is one of the oldest in the town and has greater social and human roots, where there are also the hermitage of Santos Mártires, San Abdón and San Senén, patrons of Calasparra.
"It is one of the most emblematic places in the town, and at the same time it is one of the most socially and economically depopulated," lamented Alajarín, who considers this a situation "unfair and aggravated in time" to which now an "intolerable aggression against public health" is added.
Finally, Carlos Alajarín has wondered “with what face Mr. José Vélez will be presented at FITUR 2020, the most important Tourism Fair in Spain, which offers as a tourist attraction, among other things, the visit to the hermitage of the Santos Mártires, San Abdón and San Senén, when their adjacent streets have been in such an unfortunate state for months. â€
