The popular character and his companions, with their games and jokes, encouraged neighbors as it has been happening for more than 500 years. Juan Pelotero and his gang, made up of the Clerk, the Judge and the Jailer, for a day, they carried the baton, an old book and a turkey feather, the symbols of municipal authority. In this year marked by COVID19, security measures have been present, marking safety distances and the mandatory use of a mask at all times.
No starting time or place was announced so as not to gather crowds.
The visit has been in a symbolic way. The Calasparra City Council continues to make an important commitment and effort so that culture and tradition are not left aside at this time, in addition to being safe while this global pandemic lasts.
