The Governing Council has approved to provide the City of Calasparra with 30,000 euros to protect and complete the preparation of the set of prehistoric rock art known as the Shelters of Well, considered of Cultural Interest and included in the list of World Heritage of Unesco.
Specifically, the investment of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment is primarily aimed at the third of shelters, completely inaccessible to the visitor, as well as to develop the remaining work of value and cognitive accessibility, through teaching materials and informative, since it is the reference shelter in the Region of Murcia for the rock art of the Mediterranean arch of the Iberian Peninsula.
80,000 euros to restore the windmill El Maestre de San Javier
The Governing Council has authorized the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment to grant 80,000 euros to the City of San Javier for the rehabilitation and partial restoration of the windmill to extract water known as 'El Maestre'.
This Property of Cultural Interest is an arcade mill dating from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, which is currently deteriorating and looking abandoned.
The objective is to recover it so that it serves as an educational and pedagogical transmission to the whole society of the need for the recovery and protection of heritage, given its proximity to the urban center of San Javier.
