The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, and the President of the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia, José López Tortosa, inaugurated this morning the lane between the Hermitage ecotourism of the Holy Martyrs and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Hope funded by the Plan to Promote Tourism Product "Almadenes Gorge" and the new sports facilities in the street José Soler Gomariz Calasparra carried out under the State Fund, 2010.
Tovar Gonzalez stressed that the Government of Spain has invested directly in Calasparra in the last three years, 3.6 million euros through the Tourism Promotion Plan and the State Funds, 2009 and 2010.
The new ecotourism lane runs parallel to the road linking the town of Calasparra in the sanctuary for Villa Vieja.
Is 1.5 meters wide, is clearly marked and it has created several rest areas along the entire route.
The new route is for the exclusive use of pedestrians and cyclists and has added value naturalistic follow the banks of the river Segura and rice calasparreños. This action is part of the Plan to Promote Tourism Products promoted by the Government of Spain to develop nature tourism and adventure in the Canyon environment Almadenes in the towns of Calasparra and Cieza.
The plan includes an investment of 4.1 million financed equally by the Government of Spain, the Autonomous Community and the consortium formed by the towns of Cieza and Calasparra.
Later, they opened the works of rehabilitation of the sports and new paddle tennis in the street José Soler Gomariz of Calasparra.
The work has been funded by the State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability 2010 and have had an amount of 68,000 euros.
Inaugurated the new sports facilities in addition to other actions of local sports improvements financed entirely by state funds as the new sports ground of the Bar Mills or the suitability of the Municipal Sports Pavilion and the replacement of its roof which involves an investment 443,000 euros in joint last two years.
González Tovar stressed Calasparra has finally received state funding more than 2.9 billion euros between 2009 and 2010 the city council for the execution of 29 works projects that create over 230 direct jobs and full payment for the government of President Zapatero of two social spending programs that benefit more than 850 calasparreños and calasparreñas.
