The works focus on the conservation and restoration of the elements that make up the main facades of the building to enhance its uniqueness
The Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, will subsidize 75 percent of the rehabilitation work of the House of the Widow of the town of Calasparra.
The building dates from the early twentieth century and is listed as part of the inventory of Historic and Artistic Heritage of the town.
Its front facade faces the Plaza of the slide and has three floors with balconies and open balconies.
This scheme fits into the program of "Adaptation and restoration of facades, roofs and medians' from the Autonomous Community.
The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro explained that the purpose of this program is to "restore the essential features and characteristics of buildings with high architectural interest in the regional heritage, which keeps alive their uniqueness."
The works will consist in improving the drainage system to prevent moisture in the structure, applying a new coating on the walls and polishing marble elements, as well as in the arrangement of ledges, railings, woodwork and ironwork , "to ensure proper integration with the environment and maintaining the original image of the building," the director general.
