Ricardo Garcia has been unanimously endorsed as the candidate of the United Left-Greens for mayor of Calasparra in municipal elections to be held on 22 May.
Garcia, who is also a local coordinator of the leftist coalition, has a degree in Biology and works operator at the wastewater treatment plant of Calasparra.
This is the second time that tops the list of IU for mayor of the municipality after having done so in the 2007 elections, which did not become council with just two votes.
This time, hopes that "with the experience and work the rest of the party structure, it gets more support from citizens at the polls that will enable the necessary representation."
Among its goals is changing the way we do politics, "ever since the transparency of information and citizen participation, so that the views of citizens account when designing the people we want."
In addition, stressed the need for "municipal budgets are made to service eg employment creation and improvement of public services provided from the austerity and without extravagance".
