The irrigation area of тАЛтАЛthe Tajo-Segura de Cieza and Calasparra counted from Monday with a new reservoir with a capacity of 850,000 m3 (27/09/2011)

Located between the towns of Calasparra and Cieza, with the reservoir "Bridge Road", which are already five of Irrigation Community Tajo Segura owns in the area covering 3,000 hectares of irrigated land.

This reservoir, the largest of the five, "is a relief for irrigators who have adapted and modernized their irrigation systems to conserve every last drop" as stated by the President of Zone 1, Miguel Alcazar.

The work is part of the Improvement and Modernization Project Irrigation and represents an investment of 6 million financed equally by the Autonomous Community and European Funds.

The reservoir was opened by the mayors of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, and Cieza, Francisco Tamayo, and was attended, among others, Josщ Manuel Claver, chairman of the Central Union of Irrigation, Francisco del Amor, his predecessor in office, and more than 200 community members.
