The City of Calasparra and Canoe School in this town have been involved in a collaboration agreement with the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) has allowed the recovery of the river Segura in its passage through the town.
Through a series of activities that combine leisure with volunteering, we proceeded to run, and reforestation clean channel, plus an aerial photographic work in the area.
Specifically, volunteers cleaned the School of Canoeing the river beach, the island of Uncle Juan Vacas, the route between the place of the olives and this island and between the river beach and the Casa del Conde.
Turn down the river made to detect waste and to study the riparian forest in its path.
These studies also included work as the painting of bridges or clearing of dried plants.
On the other hand, we proceeded to the creation of a permanent nursery of native species, situated in the hamlet of Lomas de la Virgen, assigned by the City of Calasparra, where poplars have been planted, oleander, Aleppo pines and willows.
Thanks to these plantations has been able to reforest affected areas of the river, especially between the island and Uncle John Cow Drum Swirl.
The last part of the agreement consisted of an aerial photo shoot Segura passing through Calasparra, which has provided valuable snapshots of the river and through the natural settings in the municipality.
